Recruitment – It’s A Human Thing
We live in a world where self-driving cars not only exist, they are being blasted off to space in rockets. Where machines can learn from experience. Where robots can do the jobs of humans and where mobile devices are extensions of the human body. It’s a thrilling time to be alive – a time where artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) are being woven into our lives.
AI and ML along with a myriad of other acronyms relating to this space are dominating our headlines and transforming industries. The recruitment industry is no exception. Some believe technology will replace the human recruiter all together. Not us! Of course, there is always that possibility, but this is what we believe and here is why.
The future of recruitment is where modern technology combines with refined, compassionate human influencing skills. The great recruiters will evolve. The great recruiters will use technology to their advantage and now more than ever the need for human intervention, empathy and kindness is more crucial, as technology infiltrates itself.
It’s exciting – having available and leveraging super smart recruiting tools that will hone our talent identification skills and free up our time to focus on building relationships.
Talent identification is one thing and AI is fantastic for this, especially when the focus should be uncovering passive candidates, who we need to develop relationships with, and contact at the right time with the right value add. But, actual recruiting and bringing together of the hiring deal is an intensely human skill. The ability to approach a prospect and engage with that person in a tailored, professional, compassionate way – a way that builds trust. The future recruiter is a skills miner who is able to approach, connect, listen and influence.
Humans recruit humans! Technology just helps.
